Are you longing for spring as much as I am? I am so done with rain, cold, and wearing socks indoors ;-) Spring also means cons and fairs to look forward too! Dutch Comic Con postponed until July, but in april we'll be going to the Elf Fantasy Fair. So.. time for outfits!
My youngest says that she likes cool things.. and she's right! Dinosaurs, dragons and monsters are her thing. I did some research and found nice outfits on Ali, but H&M also has several cool costumes. Of superheroes, and also of dinosaurs. She just loves her new costume. And it's smart too, the tail is removable (velcro) when she wants to sit down. My eldest is her counter opposite.. she likes princesses, pink, and glitter. The sisters have a lot in common though, they like to meet every furry they can and hug them silly ;-) So she wants to be a furry, or something close to it. I think she is too young for a full furry suit, but I started looking for some furparts. I got touch with Ingeborg, and her company Maying Fantasy Creations. We discussed the options, and I decided on ears and tail for Evy. She wants to be a cat, but we both liked the fox-like tail better, so went with that. The communication with Ingeborg was great and she send us pictures to show us how it was coming along. Evy was elated when the package with the end result came. Now we'll try to find a good outfit to match! I'll probably make some legwarmers for her too. Do you like the result as much as I do? Get it touch with Ingeborg and order your own! If you mention the code: GeeklingsxMFC5 then she will give you 5% discount on your first order!

A while ago we visited the Oertijdmuseum (or Dinomuseum) in Boxtel. I can highly recommend it! I didn't even know it existed, but it's a lovely small museum, with a big dinosaur garden.
It looks and feels almost like a private collection. With seemingly not a lot of structure, but that's part of the charm. There are things to discover everywhere. The museum also has some moving dinosaurs, which also make sounds. A little scary for my youngest (3) but she loved the moving hatching eggs. It's a good museum to visit in autumn too, do the indoor part when it's raining, and venture outside when the weather improves. The shop of the museum is also nice, with stuffed dinosaurs, but also precious metals and fossils you can buy. The garden is very large, and takes you on a journey, from the oldest dinosaurs to the first humans. You can pose with models of dinosaur jaws, and there is a nice playground too. We a had a great time, thanks to aunt Janneke, she suggested the outing and went with us. Have a look for yourself! |
