Fandoms.. even small kids have them.. My Geeklings have some favorite tv-shows, and Spongebob is one of them. I like watching the yellow sponge too (have seen some episodes too often now). My girls will even refer to an hamburger as an krabburger..(krabby patty).
Spongebob, and other well loved shows for young kids are all from Nickelodeon. Paw patrol, Dora, Huize Herrie (The Loud House), The Fairly Odd Parents and many more. Let's not forget the amazing Avatar! Nickelodeon does a lot of cool promotional things for kids, like an Familie Festival, last weekend. But Nickelodeon Nederland also goes on tour! In your local mall you can meet the characters and take a picture with them. When we visited the tour you could also get an glitter tattoo, and make a mask of your favourite Nickelodeon star. It is professional, the people are great, and it's completely free. I can recommend it! The tour is still in Alexandrium Shopping Center in Rotterdam until the 31th of august. Follow the Nickelodeon FB in your country to see when they come near you. For the Netherlands: @NickelodeonNL

They have been on the market for a while, but autumn is almost here.. so, should I buy my Geeklings some Cubcoats? It is a cool combination, of a hoodie that turns into a stuffed animal (or visa versa). The signature series are animals, like a cat, dog, fox or a panda. In the character series however, you'll find Star Wars characters, Mickey and Mini Mouse, Bob the Minion and Poppy the troll. All new are the Marvel characters: Black Panther, Spiderman, Captain America and Iron Man. The signature Cubcoats are $45 and the special character cost $50. You can find them at: https://cubcoats.com/ It's been way too long since I posted here. Work got in the way, but I'm back now! Starting with a throwback to the last edition of the Elf Fantasy Fair, last april. We were so excited as a family, going to Elfia is a outing we all love. Even if the girls didn't remember much of the visit last year ;-) I still had medieval costumes for them, both blue and white, so my husband and I decided to wear blue too. Last year the costumes where too big for them, but this year they were a perfect fit. Handmade by a woman I found on the internet, and just lovely. This years Elfia was earlier in the year than usual, and that meant.. COLD! Especially at ten in the morning. About 5 ºC and a little too cold without a winter coat. I love how immersive Elfia is, from the location at castle Haarzuilens, to the music when you enter the Elfian land of fantasy. We had a great day again, the Geeklings loved looking at all the beautiful people. Highlights are women in big dresses and the furry's, my little one called them mummies at first.. Even the scary looking one got a hug from Evy ;-) We met a family who found a great way to combine cosplay and the transport of their kids, Daltons anyone? A great thing about Elfia is the amount of space. Lots of room to run around outdoors. The food was great as usually, but the meat sticks that visitors love, where missing. But there are some other setbacks. There is basically no shelter from rain or cold. Not great when you need to breastfeed or change a baby either. In previous years there were things for kids to do, but I didn't see that this year, a missed opportunity if you ask me! All in all, my Geeklings didn't mind the minor disappointments, they had a blast, and so did we. I hope for a bit warmer edition next year, and it would be nice if the organization would do more for Geeklings. To make their visit even better. |
