Some fandoms are not suitable for young Geeklings. At least, not until recently. The series Pop Classics storybooks introduces Buffy the Vampire Slayer to itty bitty potentials. Not as the ass-kicking hero we know and love, but as an eight-year-old Buffy, who's afraid of the noises in her closet. This is a story about natural fears and overcoming them, with all the Buffy characters and wonderful illustrations. Still.. it's the opinion of the Geeklings that count, and my girls love the book. My three year old can already 'read' the book to others (see the video below!) and want to name her firstborn Willow.. Other books in the series are Home Alone, E:T, Back to the Future and X-Files. The first three are versions of the stories we all know but adapted for young minds. The last is a story about a young Mulder and Scully on a sleepover in de backyard, with the subtitle 'Earth Children are Weird'. I'm going to collect them all, that's for sure!
