Looking for Geeky toys, made out of natural materials? Check out By Knus. Petra, the woman behind By Knus uses materials such as wood and wool, to make things like these cute Peg Dolls. Until now, she already made different Disney princesses. Such as Elsa and Anna, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Moana/Viana, Jasmine and Snow White. A few days ago she wanted to make some new characters and had superheroes on her mind. I couldn't resist, and suggested she'd make Captain Marvel. After all, the movie is almost coming out. This is the result! Interested? Visit her FB or Instagram and give a Pegg Doll a new home :-) She also makes cute gnomes!

Last week, the trailer for Frozen 2 dropped. I didn't know if it was a good idea to show it to my girls (4 and 2). First and foremost, because I didn't know if they would get the 'trailer' concept. 'What, where is the rest of the movie??!' But I also feel that Frozen 2 has a darker and more grown up feel about it. Would they like it? Long story short, Evy watched the trailer with her dad. He explained to her that it was only a short movie, and she didn't have a problem with that. The first part really excited her, Elsa, running on the sea! A lot of the trailer went to fast for her though ;-) and she is not the only one. Most people rewatch trailers to find that they have missed half of it.. It still makes a nice first reaction video though, right? For me, being Geek is connected to a love of nature. Plants, trees, animals, I love to introduce my Geeklings to them. Oh and lets not forget the fantastical animals! Dragons and unicorns, Totoro or Pikachu we all have our favourites.
UK illustrator Richard Wilkinson found a way to combine Geekdom and his fascination with collecting, cataloguing and classifying (a Geek thing in itself ;-)). He created a series imaginary insects which resemble Star Wars characters. The whole collection contains more than 60 pictures and is called "Arthropoda Iconicus: Invertebrates From A Far Away Galaxy". You can buy a print on his website, which is your favourite? If your Geeklings like bugs, don't forget to check out: https://www.facebook.com/bugunderglass/ This is a amazing Facebook page about the unique, beautiful and scary bugs that live among us. Guaranteed an 'woooow', or 'ieeeeuw' from your Geekling.. |
