Wallpaper is a great way to create a nice atmosphere in a children's room. Especially now that it's easier than ever to apply. You only need to apply glue to the wall when you use non woven wallpaper, and it's very easy to remove.

Wallpaper is mostly available on rolls, but Rebel Walls makes custom made wallpaper. Lego releases two BrickHeadz, the Mandalorian and the Child, sold together for €18,95. You can strap a blaster rifle to The Mandalorian’s back and put a blaster pistol in this bounty hunter’s hand. Create a hoverpram for the Child and adjust its ears for happy and sad expressions.

​Hasbro's best is surely the animatronic, sold for a reasonable €69,99. He can move his head, eyes and ears and has a lot of sound effects, such as happy, excited, tired and sleeping sounds. He can even act like he uses the force, by lifting his hand, closing his eyes and sighing.

Papercraft your own
But you don't need a lot of money, and don't have to wait to own your own baby Yoda.. you can also make cute baby Yoda (paper)crafts. Your Geeklings will love to make something with you. You can start with easier papercrafts such as this printable, or the cubee baby Yoda. A lot more complex is this 3D model, for older children or parents. And if you're not into papercraft, why not make this hot bead model I found on Instagram?

Sleeping.. some children love it, some make you wonder if you'll ever have a full nights sleep yourself. If you want to create a lovely environment for your Geekling to sleep and dream: look no further.

SNURK Amsterdam creates bedding and homewear with a lot of room for fantasy. The duvet covers are created in such a way that you become part of it when you slip under the covers. One of the newest designs is the Dragon duvet cover. Your Geeklings new mythical sleeping friend. 'He takes you on his back far above the clouds and will be happy to toast your dinner. 

Karate kids and other warriors can now sleep peacefully with at least one eye closed. Because here is the new Ninja from SNURK. This life-size ninja doll printed on the duvet cover is only 30 cm in size and handmade by the artist 'HunterPig' from Singapore. 

These are just two new designs, you can also be an astronaut, a fairy, supergirl, or a knight, a pirate or a princess. The duvets are made of organic cotton and available in junior size, single, but even in Lits-jumeaux. Single sizes duvets are € 59,95.

We loaded our MLP constumes on the bus and traveled to the Jaarbeurs. This time the entrance was in the gaming hall, which means a LOT of noise. I would have liked the entrance in a calmer hall, especially for kids, because going to Comic Con can be very overwhelming. Luckily my Geeklings took it well, but we moved to another hall quickly.

My girls like Comic Con when there are things to DO. They don't give a shit about famous guest, but they like to take pictures at green screens, paint the mural, discovering the House of Wax and hug furries. Especially the last thing.. my Geeklings adore furries, my youngest as long as they don't talk. I had two great days with them. Pieces of their costumes got lost along the way, which was good lesson. Next time I will make the outfits even less complex. My eldest already knows she wants to be a junior furry, and I ordered ears and a tail for her already. We are looking forward to the next edition of the DCC in March!

Some tops and tips for the Dutch Comic Con:

• The House of Wax is amazing every time, and Geeklings love it.
• Changes to take pictures, with green screens, or props are great.
•  The geek mural officially is for kids 7yrs and up, that's just sad for younger kids. Why not create a creative wall where the focus is on creativity, and not on painting between the lines..
• In the Playzone there were a few bouncing castles, great! Every Geekling loves these, but most found them by accident.. I believe they where a part of a Kids Zone, that didn't come together. I hope that something like it will be at de DCC in the future! Geeklings would love to help.
